works / Event Horizon I. / Karlin Studios, Praha

Event Horizont, part one took place in Prague, at Karlin Studios from May 20 to July 19, 2015. It included the following parts. Currently, the entire installation is part of the contemporary art collection at Třebešice Castle. The second part of Horizon of Events took place in Prague, at Venus in Švehlovka in January 2016.

In September 2014, Kamila Ženatá assembled an experimental group of 8 women who have been working in her studio at Karlin Studios for three years.

They deal with the search for identity, the female world, dreams, understanding the meaning of their lives. The women are of different ages, social status and live in different parts of the Czech Republic. They work with their experiences, memories, emotions, observations, reflections, dreams, associations, contexts, their own life story, etc. These experiences, and of course other aspects, including imaginations and interviews, are the basis for Kamila Ženaté’s conceptual work. The author’s site-specific projects convey the lived experience of this process. The project is divided into three parts between 2015 and 2018.

The visual part is paralleled by the dramatic part – the play Horizon of Events, by playwright Lenka Lagronová, is gradually staged in synergy with site-specific exhibitions by Letí Theatre, directed by Martina Schlegelová.
