Carl Gustav Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist, born on 26 July 1875. He became famous for his theories on the collective unconscious and archetypes. The creative component of the human being plays a key role in his analytical therapy, which he saw as an important tool for self-knowledge and personal growth.
Artistic expression, writing, music or dance help to express and then process deep emotions and unconscious contents. Jung often used the technique of active imagery, in which clients delved into their inner images and then embodied them through painting or other creative processes. In this way they were given the opportunity to understand their inner conflicts and find ways to resolve them.
In the lecture series we will meet experts in Jungian analytic therapy who will introduce us to the ideas of C.G. Jung and the basic principles and contexts of therapy, which focuses on working with the unconscious, archetypes and the process of individuation.
