‘Healthy children will not fear life if their parents have enough integrity not to fear death.’ E. Erikson
The theme of the conference is exploring different perspectives on endings and finitude in our world. From the demise of stars and galaxies to the loss of everyday certainties we have taken for granted. Not only cancelled cinemas, abandoned houses, extinguished relationships, but also the crumbling image of the world – all this reveals a hidden layer of our existence. What do the endings say about life, about time, about memory and about the ability to find new meanings in the ruins of old structures? Can we accept what they say about the nature of our existence and how they help us better understand the value of the present moment?
